Turmeric Milk

“My dear doctor, I’m surprised to hear you say that I am coughing very badly, because I have been practicing all night.” John Philpot Curran

It’s the season for flu and while the world was celebrating Christmas and New year’s eve, we were huddled up in blankets watching Harry Potter movies one after the other and drinking plenty of liquids and gulping down tylenol. We finished with the whole series of Harry Potter movies and then, we pulled out star wars and then the Lord of the Rings. Those movies kept us sane and going. They say anytime you get the flu, it is the sickest you have ever been in life. I agree.  I haven’t ever felt so sick.

What did help ease the cough and  relieve the throat was this turmeric milk that we kept drinking. This is an ancient Indian Ayurvedic remedy for sore throat and cough. It works like a charm. You just have to get used to the taste and the idea of drinking hot milk with turmeric in it.

Turmeric Milk The antibacterial properties of turmeric make it a great remedy to treat cough naturally. Turmeric is revered in Ayurvedic Circles for it’s healing properties. Though we use it in our food regularly, there are times when the body needs an extra dose.

Stay safe this flu season and Drink up your turmeric milk. Your body will thank you.
