Mango Papaya Salad

Keri Papaya Chinn or the Mango papaya salad is a popular street food accompaniment  in the state of Gujarat in India.   Shredded, thin strips of both the fruits, seasoned with salt and a little spice is served with  fafda, samosa or any other savory snack you fancy having.

I find it to be a refreshing addition to any savory Indian meal.  It is easy to confuse this with a thai green mango salad, and I think it might actually be a good substitute as is.  The one thing I love about this salad is how simple , yet flavorful this salad is.

For the Friday’s Power food blog group we had the Papaya as our powder food.  Papaya is an excellent source of vitamin A and vitamin C. It is a very good source of folate and potassium. In addition, it is a good source of dietary fiber, vitamin E, and vitamin K. Excellent for digestive and heart health, papaya is also known as a good source of fiber.

38 Power Foods blog group  focuses on one ingredient each week taking inspiration from the book ; Power Foods: 150 Delicious Recipes with the 38 Healthiest Ingredients from the editors of the whole living magazine. Each week we all  come up with recipes, stories, articles to encourage eating nourishing food.
